A leading supplier of fertiliser and an agric-solutions provider, BH-Fetagro Ghana Limited (BFGL), has been adjudged the 2024 Agribusiness of the Year at the Chamber Business Awards organised by the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI).

This is the second time running that the indigenous agri-company has been honoured with the prestigious award by the GNCCI.

The Chamber Business Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and ethical leadership across the country’s private sector.

Commitment

In an interview after receiving the award, the Managing Director of the BFGL, Robert Kwabena Ayitey, reaffirmed his outfit’s commitment to continue investing in the country’s agricultural sector to create more employment opportunities for people and contribute to sustainable development.

“Agriculture is the catalyst for development and we are proud to be a strong player in this sector.

We will continue supporting Ghana’s food security and agribusiness value-chains, improving crop yields, creating jobs, safeguarding livelihoods and improved incomes, strengthening farmer resilience and ensuring environmental sustainability,” he said.

He called on stakeholders in the agriculture value chain, as well as investors, to invest in agriculture and help to propel the country’s development.

According to him, over the years, BH-Fertagro had invested in both agriculture and the community, especially the vulnerable members of society.

“We have so far donated over GH¢90,000 worth of fertilisers to the Ghana Prisons Service to support their farming and inmate maintenance efforts.

Also, we donated more than GH¢100,000 worth of relief items during the Akosombo Dam spillage,” he added.
